Australian army field set (Telephone Set D MKV contained in metal box 251 x 110 x 153mm.
Stamped D?D on front near lid closer. Top marked ???SET and ? above 325.
Top opening lid with diagram (724 stamped on lid below) and instructions inside.
Bell on left hand side with two terminals marked L1 and L2. Battery container centre rear
marked D?D TELEPHONE SET MK V SERIAL NO. 25709 MANUFACTURED BY STANDARD TELEPHONES AND CABLES Pty. Ltd. SYDNEY 1942.
Small key similar to #3 mounted in front. Buzzer with two dials each marked LOCK.
Below key is sliding frame marked PRESS KEY WHEN FINISHED and telephone handset with
four pin plug stamped S.T.&C. D?D. Lever marked PRESS KEY WHILE SPEAKING TELE HQ NO. 2.
To left is four hole socket and also in section with handset is set of headphones connected below
